Proudly South African Members’

NEWSLETTER

FROM THE DESK OF THE CEO

Although the new year is already well underway, and we are working on our calendar of activities on events scheduled for March and April, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members a prosperous and fruitful 2018.

On 8th January, most of the Proudly SA team returned invigorated after a restful holiday and immediately began work on our annual Buy Local Summit & Expo. This is our flagship event and 2018 marks the 7th edition. Once again it will run over two days on 14th & 15th March at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. We urge you all to try and find time either to attend the SMME workshops and speaker presentations on 14th March, and/or the main Summit on 15th March. In addition, bring your product or service with you and exhibit. More than 2 000 visitors move through the Expo and it is a great opportunity to profile your company and to find new buyers or suppliers.

Participation in any or all of these elements is free to our members and is part of our value proposition to you.

You need to register online, and each day requires separate registration. www.buylocalsummit.co.za

For more information on exhibition space, please email [email protected]

A draft programme will be available online early in February, so please watch the website for more details.

But even before we get to March, we will have a busy month of February. As well as a light hearted celebration of Valentine’s Day planned together with Mango Airlines, we have convened two sector specific business forums to address the crisis in the pharmaceutical and the poultry sectors. They will take place in Johannesburg on the 20th and 27th February respectively and if you would like to participate and contribute to finding solutions to the criticial issues confronting businesses in these industries, please email [email protected]

We are also very excited to announce that we will have a weekly column starting later in February in Independent Media’s Business Report which all its regional titles carry as a daily supplement. Look out for us every Tuesday!

And finally, on 30 January the 5th edition of the SA Premier Business Awards gala dinner took place and we are delighted to announce that apart from the Proudly SA Award which went to La Van Skin & Body Excellence System, the SMME Award went to another member company, namely Memeza Shout (Pty) Ltd. Well done to all the winners in the other 8 categories.

So that’s January already over, with a busy 2018 for the Campaign to look forward to! If you have any news you would like to share with us, or special offers you would like to extend to our members, please drop a line to our PR Manager [email protected] for inclusion in future editions of our Newsletter.
