Compliment of the New Year

The New Year marks an opportune moment for us to reflect on our aspirations and establish new goals that align with our current life circumstances. In doing so, I have identified my top priority: seeing South Africa liberated from its current economic struggles and high unemployment rates. In 2024, I envision more of us taking intentional steps toward influencing positive change in the economy and creating job opportunities for our citizens. To achieve this, we must collectively make a significant shift in our spending habits, utilizing our currency wisely by investing in South African-made products and supporting local services. By doing so, we can make a tangible impact in elevating the economy.

Moreover, it’s disheartening to witness a growing number of younger generations seeking job opportunities outside of South Africa.

I remain optimistic that an increasing number of individuals residing in our beloved country will consciously consider how they allocate their financial resources. As Proudly South African citizens, we shoulder a significant responsibility in altering perceptions regarding locally sourced products and services. It’s likewise our duty to motivate manufacturers and service providers to enhance the quality of their offerings and establish global competitiveness, thereby instilling greater confidence in our domestic output. So that we can have that pride other countries have in their own products/services.

As we strive towards this transformation, I urge those who are already familiar with the buy-local movement to join me in spreading the message to a wider audience. By advocating for this cause in our workplaces and communities, we can play our part in amplifying its reach and impact.

To collectively make this year a meaningful one, we must take steps toward becoming a solution for the economy. Our country’s greatest victory would be to reshape the economy for the better. Each of us has a role to play in achieving this goal, and it begins with making a conscious effort to support local produce and services with our purchasing power. By doing so, we can bring ourselves one step closer to economic liberation and job creation we all strive to see. As the economy belongs to all of us, we must work together to protect it. This responsibility doesn’t solely fall on Proudly South African but on every individual who has the power to make a change in their spending habits.

With the New Year upon us, I extend my best wishes for a prosperous year ahead. Let us enter this year feeling refreshed and motivated to kickstart our activities and let us work together towards a brighter economic future for the sake of our country.

Stay tuned for our exciting offerings in February, including a SONA takeover and an extraordinary Valentine’s Day activation in collaboration with our member company Lift Airlines.
