Proudly SA continues to have a meaningful role in growing the economy through its role of promoting the buying of locally made products and services, in order to stimulate demand for these products and services, by all sectors of society, such that existing jobs can be retained and new job opportunities can be created.
In order to achieve this, the campaign has the following key focus areas, and these are to:
Educate consumers on the importance of country-of-origin labels and the economy-wide benefits of buying locally-made products and services;
Owing to the above, Proudly SA continues to have a meaningful role in growing the economy through its role of promoting the buying of locally made products and services, in order to stimulate demand thereof, from all sectors of society, such that existing jobs can be retained and new job opportunities can be created.
In order to achieve this, the campaign has the following key focus areas, and these are to:
Educate consumers on the importance of country-of-origin labels and the economy wide benefits of buying locally made products and services;
Influence both the public and the private sector(s) to increase their respective levels of local procurement; and
With the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the work of Proudly South African has taken on even greater significance. It is not enough to preach the ‘buy local’ message. We need to practise it. As government, as state-owned enterprises, as businesses, as individuals and as leaders, we need to set an example. We need to demonstrate that buying local is about investing in quality, in sustaining local businesses, and in keeping jobs at home.
Members of Proudly South African share a commitment to an uplifting ethos that promotes social and economic change and progress. They make a meaningful contribution to building South Africa’s economy, alleviating unemployment and retaining existing employment opportunities.
