Proudly SA celebrates the melody of job creation at the SAMA30

Music is the heartbeat of Africa. Rhythm is in our veins and the pulse of the music keeps our blood pumping. Not only is music the life energy for the nation, but we also use it for everything. Whether it’s expressing joy when we win World Cups or sadness when one of our great giants falls, one cannot deny, the influence of music on South African culture. The splendour of local music and fashion will be on full display at the 30th edition of the SAMAs on the 2nd of November 2024, at the Gallagher Estate in Midrand. Proudly SA has put its stamp of approval on the much-anticipated awards ceremony because, for us at the ‘’home of local’’, it is always about the difference made in communities, the businesses being sustained, and the livelihoods that are being changed by such events.

In a nutshell, the SAMA awards carry a high-value chain that creates an impressive number of jobs. This speaks to one of the triple challenges, Proudly SA aims to tackle, that being unemployment. It is because of this common thread throughout the vast cultures of our nation that Proudly South African takes pride in endorsing the 30th edition of the South African Music Awards.

“Our endorsement of this property speaks to our loud call for eradicating unemployment. The SAMAs has been consistently creating jobs in their 30-year stint and boldly impacting various sectors, including artists managers, stage managers, chauffeurs, chefs, waiters, hosts, cleaners, sound engineers, designers, and makeup artists.” says, Eustace Mashimbye, Proudly South African CEO.

The SAMAs enable Proudly South African to continue its spotlight in the Retail, Clothing, Footwear, and Leather (R-CTFL) sector. The brand will be on the red carpet as part of the ‘Are You Wearing Local’ activation, searching for everyone who will be wearing local on the night! Don’t be caught with your tail between your legs, find a local designer, strut your stuff on the red carpet, and support local every day! Music and fashion go hand in hand and what better way to celebrate than to show up dressed to the nines in your local best. We encourage all attendees, hosts, and artists to show up at the awards in a way they’ve never shown up before.

Nhlanhla Sibisi, RiSA CEO, added: “Our partnership with Proudly South African enters its third year, and we are particularly thrilled as we celebrate 30 years of the SAMAs. We carry this badge of honour from our country’s custodian of all that is proudly local. The SAMAs not only celebrate our finest in music; they create jobs, contribute to the GDP of the province and country, and stimulate local travel. The stamp of approval from our partner encourages us to continue pushing the agenda of local business. Our dress code this year is Proudly South African Chic, a recognition of the intersection of music and fashion that will play out on our red carpet this weekend. We invite all supporters of local music to buy tickets to the show at Webtickets and to catch all the action on SABC1 and SABC Plus on Saturday from 19:30.”

The entity celebrates its 30 years of inception this year, the same as the country’s 30 young years of democracy. Proudly SA will join in celebrating the local music industry that has evolved from telling stories of the nation’s struggles, to now telling stories of the nation’s successes, greatness, and potential. South African music has over time crossed borders, touched many hearts, and created opportunities for our local artists to spread their wings and soar.
