Proudly South African is honoured to yet again be part of the country’s much-anticipated DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival Powered by LottoStar. According to the organisers of the festival, the event activated over 7000 job opportunities from the 22 360 workdays created leading up to the heritage weekend festival in 2022. What makes this festival even more commendable are the multiple opportunities provided to local suppliers as 95% of the food traders at the festival were micro-businesses, and the balance were SMMEs.
Inevitably, Proudly SA has not ignored the call to endorse this festival as it is directly linked to our core mandate; retain and create jobs. In addition to the good vibes, great company, and spectacular outdoor experiences, the festival possesses a tangible ecosystem. The industries that add to the festival’s value chain include the tourism, food and beverage, hospitality, and transportation sector. Jobs that are available range from cleaning services, security personnel, the people that put up the branding, stage managers, artist managers, artists, and many other critical touchpoints that directly and indirectly bring the festival to life.
Proudly SA extols the festival which is now in its 10th year of being one of the contributors towards the country’s economy. This festival is a massive economic booster for the City of Gold and the Gauteng province which emphasizes that it is more than just a place of enjoyment.
