PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN MEMBER COMPANIES' CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Transparency and Accountability: Members should strive to maintain transparency and accountability in their business practices.
  • Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility: Members should actively consider the environmental impacts of their businesses and take steps towards sustainable practices. This may include reducing carbon footprint, minimizing waste, and promoting eco-friendly alternatives.
  • Promotion and Support: Members should actively promote and support the buy local campaign in their marketing and advertising efforts. This includes using campaign logos, sharing campaign messages, and encouraging others to join the movement.
  • Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Members should adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Member companies must always ensure that they represent the Proudly SA Brand and Campaign in good light during the following
    • When communicating in Social Media platforms using or referencing the Proudly SA company and usage of the organisation’s logo
    • When conducting interviews in any media channels: face-to-face, Q&A, or any live interactions with
    • When speaking about the Brand/Organisation/Campaign on a business and personal capacity
  • Member companies to always practice good working conditions with any Proudly SA staff member whether by email, telephonic, or face-to-face interaction, this in line with the basic principles of professionalism.
    • Member companies and their representatives must not at any given time harass, insult, and/or exercise non professionalism towards Proudly SA staff, affiliates, stakeholders, and other member companies
  • By joining the Proudly SA stable, you directly and indirectly agree that you are now a brand ambassador and will strive to positively speak of the Proudly SA company and its mandate in public and personal spaces. This means always ensuring that you maintain good reputation about the company and the campaign
  • Member companies are to ensure a clear understanding of the Buy Local mandate and demonstrate the importance of the campaign in line with their own business objective when communicating about the association with Proudly SA in all verbal and non-verbal communication, externally and internally
  • All video, audio, image assets that is communicated internally and externally must not put Proudly SA, its member companies, affiliated, and stakeholders in any disrepute or bad taste in the public domain
  • By adhering to this Membership Code of Conduct, members will demonstrate their commitment to supporting local businesses, fostering growth, and promoting a sustainable and resilient local economy
  • Member companies understand and agree that Proudly SA is inclusive and does not discriminate against any religion, sexual preference, does not have any political party affiliation, and does not comply to any gender biases or support GBV and/or rape. Proudly SA, therefore, reserves the right to dissociate itself publicly or otherwise from any member company believed to be contravening any part of this Code of Conduct.
