TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. This competition is open to South African citizens aged 18 years and older.
2. This competition is not open to any director, employee, agency, representative, prize sponsor or contractor of Proudly South African or their immediate family members including any person directly or indirectly (including their immediate family members) involved in the organisation or running of the competition.
3. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
4. The competition commences on Friday 01 December 2023 and closes at 23h59 on Thursday 4 January 2024.
5. Proudly South African does not accept responsibility for entries not received for whatsoever reason.
6. Participating Stokvel groups must be registered, hold a valid business bank account and possess the necessary compliance documents.
7. Entrants understand by entering the competition, they are entering as a Stokvel group and not in their individual capacity.

HOW TO ENTER:

8. The rules of the competition are as follows:
   • This competition is ONLY open to Grocery Stokvels as defined by the National Stokvel Association of South Africa (Nasasa).

This category of Stokvel members typically contribute a fixed amount of money towards the purchasing of groceries at the end of the year. The Stokvel Buying Season peaks between the beginning of November and the middle of December, and purchases are made at outlets geared towards bulk purchases. Although some retailers are geared for Stokvel purchases, most groups purchase from wholesale and Cash & Carry outlets. Some groups save these funds in a Stokvel Club Account, while others save directly with the outlets, who record these contributions and make stock available for collection during the buying period.

• The competition is only open to entries posted and published on Facebook. Entries posted and published on any other social media platforms will not be considered and will thus be disqualified from this competition.
• Entrants need to showcase that 60% of their Stokvel groceries are comprised of locally made products.
• Entrants must submit their clear Stokvel grocery slips via the Proudly SA Facebook page ONLY.
• Entrants must take a picture or video showing the groceries and ensure that the images coincide with the slip submission.
• Groceries must have been purchased on and between 24 November 2023 and 24 December 2023.
• To qualify for entering, entrants must also:
  • follow the Proudly South African Facebook page, and
  • tag Proudly SA in its entry post, and
  • use the following qualifying hashtags in their entry post: #LivingLekkerLocally #BuyLocalToCreateJobs and #WhatsOnYourTable to qualify.

• Proudly South African and the prize sponsors reserve the right to cancel the competition at any time for any reason whatsoever and shall not be liable in anyway whatsoever to entrants for any cause or action whatsoever in the event of the cancellation of the competition.
• The prize package is as follows: Three lucky winners will each win R10 000 towards their Stokvel group.
• On acceptance of their prizes, each of the three winning groups give consent for their picture donning their competition prizes with their full names and provinces to be utilised, published and/or broadcast on various media platforms (including digital) at the discretion of Proudly SA, its representatives, prize sponsors and participating judges until the end of time (no personal contact information of competition winners will be shared or displayed without their prior approval in writing).
• Winners may be required to be present at a handover event. Should any Stokvel group be unavailable for the handover event for any reason whatsoever, the group will be disqualified, and prize will be awarded to the runners up. Date and venue of the event will be announced by Proudly South African in due course.
• Prizes are not transferable and are not negotiable.
• Proudly South African reserves the right to alter the rules of the competition or the prizes at their own discretion at any time. No entrant shall have any right of recourse against Proudly South African as a result of the amendment to the competition rules and/or prizes.
• The winners will be selected by a panel of representatives of Proudly SA, and/or representatives of sponsors, and will be announced on all Proudly SA’s social media pages by 12 January 2023 – date subject to change.
  • Following the announcement of the winners, the winning contestants understand that the prize will take up to 60 working days to finalise and be issued.
• Proudly SA’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into after the fact.
• Winners’ use and acceptance of prizes are at their own risk. Proudly South African and the prize sponsors (and/or their respective agencies) cannot be held liable for any accident, injury, loss or damage as a result of entrants’ participation in the competition/competition events, winning, accepting and/or utilising competition prizes, or any other activity relating to this competition.
• Any violation or attempt to violate any of the competition rules laid out above will result in the immediate disqualification of the entrant.
