PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN TO HOST INAUGURAL LOCAL WINE EXPO IN JOHANNESBURG

In celebration of South Africa’s illustrious wine industry, Proudly South African will be hosting its inaugural Local Wine Expo this winter, scheduled to take place at the Sandton Convention Centre from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th July 2022. Registration is now open for the free-to-attend event which promises to showcase some of the best of South Africa’s wine industry.

Says Proudly SA’s marketing executive, Happy MaKhumalo Ngidi, “With the growing number of patriotic South Africans who are becoming more aware of the importance of choosing locally made goods over imports, we thought it necessary to start hosting trade shows that exclusively promote South African made products and services. With this wine Expo, we intend to showcase good quality local wines SA produces, jobs created in this industry and the value chain the industry contributes to in the best interest of the South African economy.

The Local Wine Show will be opened between 15h00 and 22h00 across the three days and will be hosted in partnership with the Department of Trade Industry and Competition (the dtic) Southern Sun, the Wine Arc, the National Agricultural Marketing Council (NAMC), SA Wine Industry Transformation, the SA Wine Industry Transformation Unit, the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (tbcsa), as well as KayaFM as media partner.

On Thursday 7th July, the event will kick-off with a session for retail buyers and members of the media, which will outline the wine industry value chain and identify ways in which the industry can be elevated to new heights for the benefit of our country’s economy.
